Nigerian actress and singer Bose Olubo Adegeye has disclosed how her resolute choice to forgo having sex prior to marriage resulted in an unanticipated betrayal in a previous relationship. In an interview posted on the Oriyomi Unfiltered Realm YouTube channel, she talked about her experience.

Adegeye, who is currently married to music icon King Sunny Ade, revealed that she had a committed relationship with a man who traveled overseas before to meeting her husband.

At the outset of the relationship, she made it obvious that she would not engage in premarital sex due to her personal convictions and values. The relationship seemed to be headed toward marriage after her lover agreed to the requirement.

Due to the lack of mobile phones at the time, communication between her and her lover became challenging once he traveled overseas. To stay in contact, they used handwritten letters.

Adegeye waited for him to return so they could complete their wedding arrangements, being faithful and optimistic in spite of the difficulties.

She received a letter from a mutual friend who had also traveled overseas four years later, just as she thought they were getting closer to their marriage goal.

According to the letter, her boyfriend had already gotten married to someone else and had children with her.

She said, “ Before I got married to Sunny Ade, I was in a relationship with another man. This boyfriend of mine applied for a visa, and it was approved for him to travel abroad.“

“During this time, we agreed that there would be no intercourse or touch until after marriage. He was supposed to return to Nigeria so we could begin planning our wedding.“

“But, four years after he traveled, I received a letter from my friend, who had also traveled to the same country, informing me that my boyfriend had already impregnated another woman and fathe red a child with her.”
