N10m Scholarship: Bishop Ezeokafor, JDPC, HIFA Empower Students.

The Justice Development and Peace Caritas (JDPC) Awka Diocese, in collaboration with the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, and Help For All (HIFA) Foundation, Anambra, a non-governmental organisation, has awarded scholarships worth over N10 million to 81 students and pupils from various denominations.

The presentation of tuition fee checks to the beneficiaries took place at the JDPC office, located inside St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka, on Wednesday. The event was marked by joy and smiles from the students, parents, and guardians who were present.

Rev. Fr. Levi Ukor, Director of Justice Development and Peace Caritas (JDPC) in Awka Diocese and Chairman of HIFA Board in Anambra State, commended HIFA for their consistent support to the less privileged.

“HIFA has been consistent with this scholarship for the past 25 years and still counting,” Rev. Fr. Ukor said. “We appreciate their continuous aid to those in need. This scholarship will go a long way in supporting the education of these students and helping them achieve their dreams.

HIFA Anambra is an offshoot of HIFA Austria, one of the oldest NGOs in the world, with presence in over six states in Nigeria and Anambra as its headquarters. The organisation has been providing support to vulnerable individuals and communities in Anambra State for many years.

The scholarship award is part of the organisation’s efforts to promote education and support the development of young people in the state. The beneficiaries were selected from various schools and communities across the state and were awarded checks to cover their tuition fees for the academic year.
