Naira abuse: ‘Ask Bob for update’ – EFCC issues threat to culprits

A subdued threat has been made to Nigerians who abuse naira notes by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, or EFCC.

Preaching alone won’t make the point; conviction will, according to the anti-graft agency’s warning.

It further advised anyone unsure to obtain an “update to use” from Bobrisky, the infamous cross-dresser who was convicted.

A Lagos court earlier sentenced Bobrisky to six months in prison for abusing the naira.

A fine was not an option when Justice Abimbola Awogboro imposed the six-month term.

The EFCC stated in a post on its official X handle on Friday that individuals who have continued misusing naira will not have an explanation when the agency calls on them.

“Say No To Abuse of the Naira. If preaching will not send the message, conviction will,” EFCC wrote on X.
