Naira continues appreciation against US dollar

On Wednesday, the naira continued to appreciate against the dollar in the official foreign currency market.

According to figures from the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Naira strengthened more on Wednesday, reaching N1,418.26 per dollar, up from N1,419.07 on Tuesday.

Wednesday’s upswing reflects a daily gain of N0.80 against the dollar.

Meanwhile, on the black market, the Naira held steady against the dollar at N1,480 per dollar on Wednesday, the same rate as the previous day.

The event comes as Nigeria’s foreign reserves increased to $45.62 billion as of January 6, 2026.

Remember that on Tuesday, the Naira gained N10.24 against the dollar.
