At the official foreign exchange market, the naira saw its fifth consecutive increase vs the US dollar, capping off a successful week.

The naira appreciated to N1,457.96 against the dollar on Friday, up from N1,460.49 on Thursday, according to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

This indicates a daily gain of N2.53 for the naira relative to the dollar.

The naira has gained against the dollar five times this week, according to ZINGTIE, with Monday, October 20, 2025, seeing the largest rise.

From Monday through Friday of this week, the value of the naira on the black market stayed constant at N1,500 to the dollar.

As of October 22, 2025, the nation’s external reserves had increased to $42.87 billion, continuing their upward trajectory.
