Joseph Aloba, the father of the late musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, has once again addressed the ongoing debates surrounding his son’s professional difficulties and untimely passing.

Speaking recently with Sunday Scoop, Aloba insisted that his son had experienced harassment and intimidation during his lifetime, a claim that stands in opposition to the statements made by Naira Marley, former head of Marlian Music, who has publicly denied having any role in Mohbad’s challenges.

In a recent interview, Naira Marley maintained that he had only tried to mentor Mohbad, especially after learning that the singer may have started using illegal substances.

Reflecting on his own experiences, Aloba recounted a visit he made to Naira Marley in an attempt to help resolve some of the concerns Mohbad had shared with him. However, he claimed that what he witnessed during that encounter convinced him his son had been mistreated.

He stated that a member of Marley’s inner circle allegedly confided in him, accusing Marley of physically abusing the singer.

Aloba said, “When we went to see him to apologise, he wasn’t even speaking respectfully. People assume I went there to collect money, but life is beyond just what I want to eat.”

In response to suspicions that Mohbad handled financial dealings through accounts not registered in his name, Aloba acknowledged that such an issue was real.

He elaborated that Marley had once raised concerns about Mohbad receiving payments through an unfamiliar account. The singer’s father admitted he had also observed irregularities, noting that funds sent to Mohbad occasionally came from unidentified sources.

“I warned him that anything he wanted to give me should come from his own account,” he stated, stressing that this was the extent of his knowledge of the matter
