Omoyele Sowore’s case is presently before the Federal High Court in Abuja, where Afam Osigwe, the president of the Nigerian Bar Association, activist attorney Deji Adeyanju, and other attorneys are present.
According to report gathered, Sowore, a well-known Nigerian activist, will be charged by the Nigeria Police Force today for calling Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police, the “illegal IGP.”
On Monday, the Nigerian Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) office at Old Abattoir by Guzape Junction, Abuja, invited the activist to be questioned.
As a condition of his bail, he was then required to present his international passport and a level 16 federal civil servant.
However, Sowore refused to comply with the requirement and chose to stay in police detention until his arraignment.
On Wednesday (today), he is scheduled to appear before Federal High Court Justice Liman in Abuja.
