Former Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) chairman Sam Amadi has asked former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to follow in the footsteps of Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

According to Amadi, Atiku needs to shed his excessive “royalty” and act more like a professional or business executive.

The former head of NERC asserted that Atiku is not that horrible and that he might be president.

Amadi, who is also the director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, wrote on X on Saturday that Atiku should not pretend to be an emir, an ooni, or an obi, pointing out that Nigeria is neither a “emirate nor a kingdom.”

He said: “Atiku could be President. He is not really bad. But one thing he needs to cure is excessive ‘royalty’. He should emulate @PeterObi.

“Be as much normal as a professional or a business leader, not an Emir or Ooni or Obi. Nigeria is not an emirate, or a kingdom.”
