The Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State, has opened applications for its 12th Regular Course Degree Programmes for the 2024/2025 academic year.
In a statement issued by the Registrar, Barrister Ekpere Fidelis Ezeugwu, it was revealed that the online application portal will be accessible starting July 28, 2025, and will remain open until September 8, 2025, allowing a six-week period for prospective candidates to submit their applications.
To be eligible, applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess a valid National Identity Number (NIN). They must also have taken the 2025 JAMB examination, scored a minimum of 180, and selected the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, as their first choice. Additionally, candidates are required to have at least six credit passes in either WAEC or NECO—including English Language and Mathematics—obtained in no more than two sittings. They must be between the ages of 16 and 21 as of October 31, 2025, and meet the Academy’s physical standards: a minimum height of 1.67 meters for males and 1.64 meters for females. Male applicants must also have a chest measurement of no less than 86 centimeters. All candidates must be in good medical, physical, and mental health and must not be married or expecting a child at the time of enrollment.
Interested individuals should go to the Academy’s application portal at www.admission.polac.edu.ng to generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code and pay a non-refundable application fee of N6,000—which covers the Post-UTME assessment—through any commercial bank. After payment, they must fill out the application form online, print it out, and upload scanned versions of their secondary school certificate(s), birth certificate, and certificate of origin. These documents will also be presented during the screening test.
All applicants will participate in a computer-based test conducted at the Academy’s ICT facility. Successful candidates will move on to further physical and medical assessments. Those who advance past these stages will be invited for interviews and the final selection phase. Selected individuals will receive notification via SMS and email, and the date for the beginning of training will be announced subsequently.
As stated by Ezeugwu, the Academy offers undergraduate programmes within three major faculties:
Students admitted into these programmes undergo five years of combined academic education and police training, after which they are awarded a Bachelor’s degree and commissioned into the police force with the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
