After sharing her thoughts on why so many women in their 30s remain unmarried, a Nigerian woman became viral on social media.
She claims that many women in the present era are no longer seeking men. They are engaged in “unicorn hunting.”
According to her, the ideal man has evolved from being a good man to being a multifaceted individual who can serve as a therapist, best friend, passionate lover, financial provider, future father of the year, and even a mind reader. He also needs to be incredibly attractive and flawless.
She continued after that. According to her, women were raised on a diet of novels and movies that portrayed idealized men who were capable of doing anything. They are now truly surprised to learn that guys, real people, have imperfections.
In her words, “We’re shocked—shocked!—to discover that actual humans come with flaws.”
In the meanwhile, she thinks men appear to have a far greater grasp of reality.
She claims that while women are busy trudging around with lengthy spreadsheets of essential qualities—and then wondering why they’re consistently let down—men are more willing to prioritize, compromise, and put up with a lot more “nonsense” overall.
Online responses to the message have been conflicting. Some concurred with her assessment, stating that males in today’s dating environment are held to unattainable standards. Others claimed that because of rom-coms, social media, and inflated depictions of love, both men and women had become victims of unattainable dating standards.
