Nigerian Lawmaker Donation Brings Joy to Orphanage Homes

Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, has made a generous donation of food items and N11 million to three orphanage homes within his constituency. The donations were made to Rafiki Orphanage Home, ECWA Widows Training School in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, and Gweimen Centre in Jaba Local Government Area.

The senator, represented by Hon. Ali Kalat, Member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, stated that the initiative was driven by his desire to support vulnerable members of society. “Giving to the less privileged on his birthday has been a yearly tradition even before he became a senator,” Kalat recalled

The donated items included 25 bags of rice, Indomie noodles, bags of semolina, and spaghetti, according to Hon. Gideon Gwani, chairman of the distribution committee. Gwani emphasized that the donation was part of Senator Katung’s ongoing effort to promote unity, love, and compassion across the district.

Rev. Yunusa Madu and Alhaji Alhassan Garba commended Senator Katung for his humanitarian efforts, noting that caring for orphans and widows is a divine act that attracts blessings from God.

The Zonal Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Akusor Danjuma, observed that Senator Katung’s philanthropic activities have significantly boosted the image of the party in the zone. He urged other well-meaning individuals to emulate the senator by supporting the less privileged.

The heads of the orphanage homes, Cornelius Samuel, Mrs. Sarah Bature, and Dr. Felicia Kegang, expressed gratitude to Senator Katung for his generosity. Amina Musa, one of the beneficiaries, thanked the lawmaker for his continuous support and prayed that God would replenish his resources.
