According to reports, Apostle Festus Akilu, the senior pastor of Word of Power Gospel Church, was arrested by Senior Pastor Korede Komaiya of Master Place International Church for opposing his prosperity teachings.

After accusing Pastor Komaiya of deceiving churchgoers with false prosperity doctrines in a video broadcast on his official Facebook page, Apostle Akilu was arrested.

Within the Nigerian Christian community, the incident has spurred conversations about religious tolerance, freedom of speech, and the limits of disagreements about doctrine.
