The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating through the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, has achieved a significant milestone in its campaign against Boko Haram insurgents.
In a statement issued by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, who serves as the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, it was revealed that precision air raids were carried out on terrorists attempting to escape in Bita, Borno State. The airstrikes reportedly eliminated a large number of militants, marking one of the most impactful operations against the extremist group in recent times.
The operation, described as meticulously planned and conducted during nighttime hours, is considered a major advancement in ongoing efforts to weaken the structure and capabilities of armed groups destabilizing the northeastern region of the country.
Following the air assault, ground troops have launched follow-up clearance missions to secure and build upon the success of the air campaign.
NAF reiterated its strong resolve to safeguard the country’s borders and protect citizens, emphasizing that it is taking all necessary actions to ensure that no part of Nigeria becomes a refuge for terrorist groups.
