The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) chieftain and Jigawa State’s 2023 gubernatorial candidate, Malam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, has criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for escalating social and economic problems in the state and the nation.

He claimed that the APC’s leadership had caused enough pain for everyone.

Ringim attacked a number of state government policies during a stakeholders’ meeting in Hadejia, Jigawa State, claiming that they do not adequately serve the concerns of common people.

In particular, he criticized the recently introduced citizens’ involvement initiative, saying it did not provide a useful forum for individuals to voice their concerns.

“A common man should be allowed to speak his mind, even if it is against the government’s interest,” Ringim said, cautioning that the suffering endured by Nigerians has reached an intolerable level.

He emphasized that many individuals have been reduced to beggars and are fighting for their lives, and he encouraged the federal and state governments to act immediately to enhance the welfare of their residents.

“The government must prioritize education, healthcare, job creation, and agricultural development. Every policy should be designed to uplift the common man, with a strong commitment to effective implementation. If these sectors improve, poverty will decline, along with crime such as theft, armed robbery, and kidnapping,” he added.

Ringim underlined the NNPP’s responsibility to hold the government responsible and advocate for laws that lessen the suffering of its constituents, reinforcing the party’s position as a potent opposition force.

In order to make wise decisions in next elections, he also asked voters to consider their experiences with the current administration.
