Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s aide, Abdul Rasheeth, has said that anything pertaining to former President Muhammadu Buhari is of no relevance to the northern region.

In response to Buhari’s latest declaration reiterating his dedication to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Rasheeth made this comment about X.

Following claims by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai that he had told Buhari prior to defecting from the APC to the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the former president made these remarks.

El-Rufai’s choice to include Buhari in his declaration of defection, according to Atiku’s aide, has only made matters worse for him.

Citing responses from the North and remarks on BBC Hausa, he implied that the former president’s name has no political significance in the area.

“By linking himself to Buhari, he has only created more trouble for himself, as the North is not interested in hearing anything related to Buhari,” Rasheeth said.
