Fidelis Ilechukwu, Rangers’ technical adviser, feels that his team’s goalless draw with Kwara United was a loss for veteran forward Godwin Obaje.
Due to an injury, Obaje was unable to attend the match at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Ilechukwu blamed his team’s inability to convert their opportunities for the game’s result.
He promised to focus on making the squad better in the games that followed.
“We tried having Obaje ready for the game, but he couldn’t because of the injury,” Ilechukwu stated in a post-match interview.
“Obaje has shown that he is a great player for the team, especially now that we are struggling to score goals. I expect other players to shoulder the responsibility because I always train them all on goal scoring.
“I feel the pain from the outcome of the game because a win could have taken us to a safe spot on the league table. We will continue to work hard and improve on our lapses in the future.”
