Nurse facing manslaughter charges after she removed her mother’s feeding tube because she wanted her to have “peace”

Deputies claim that a Miami nurse removed her hospitalized mother’s breathing tube, leading to manslaughter charges against her.

A licensed nurse practitioner with almost 20 years of experience, Juansette Sabrina Green, 54, was arrested last week and charged with manslaughter after reportedly removing her mother’s breathing tube because she claimed she wanted her to die quietly.

According to local media, Green’s mother was admitted to the hospital on May 5th because she was having trouble breathing. After that, Green contacted her daughter and son to come meet their grandmother.

According to her arrest record, Green allegedly said, “I’m pulling out,” and took out the intubation tube when the kids got to the hospital, the Herald said.

An alert was sounded and medical workers tried to intervene, but she d!ed.

Green allegedly instructed medical personnel to cease helping her mother because she wanted her to “go in peace” while they were doing so.

According to the report, officers visited Green’s house that same evening to talk with her. Deputies took Green to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office headquarters to read her rights after she consented to speak but stated she wouldn’t do so at home.

A judge ordered Green to be detained without bond at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center during her court appearance over the weekend.
