Abass Akande, often known as Obesere, is a Fuji music icon who recently turned 60. The “Egungun Be Careful” phenomenon said he has no regrets in an interview with Saturday Beats.

He said, “There is nothing I wished I had done differently. It’s all God’s plan, and I don’t have any regrets whatsoever. I believe I’m still soaring higher. I have not even started.”

On the achievement he is most proud of in his career, Obesere said, “There are lots of achievements that I can’t even mention. Is it the children that God blessed me with and helped me sponsor their education abroad? Or myself, that God gave another citizenship abroad? Or the houses and other investments that God has given me? There are lots of achievements. I can’t mention enough, really. All I can say is I thank my creator and my star.”

When asked if he was working on a biography to document his legacy, he revealed, “I am working on a biography and documentary. By God’s grace, it’s coming up. My story is inspiring, and I feel the upcoming generation should learn some lessons from it. That’s why, on one of my houses, it is boldly written: Wisdom Compound. There is so much wisdom to learn from my life, journey and career.”
