Woman expresses regrets as husband flees after funding their wedding with over N6 million

A tragic account of betrayal by the man she once believed to be her true love was shared by a Kenyan woman who paid for her wedding around nine years ago.

A woman identifying herself as Jane Muthoni described the terrible betrayal that followed her substantial financial commitment in a devastating interview with Tuko.

Jane claims that in 2013, she met her now-ex-husband at church. She said that while he was unemployed at the time, his humility drew her to him.

Because of her intense love for him, Jane ignored early warning flags and financed their wedding with a staggering Ksh500,000 (about N6 million), determined to build a future together.

Jane’s husband’s family warned her during their courting that he wasn’t serious about life, but they hoped that marriage would change that.

Jane decided to be his sole provider in spite of her reservations, handling all of the costs and eventually having two kids with him.

When Jane started receiving devastating pictures of her husband with another woman—taken on the very smartphone she had bought him—it became clear that she had been betrayed.
