The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu is working towards ending poverty in Nigeria through the implementation of his economic policies.

The monarch said several measures introduced by the Tinubu administration had contributed to efforts aimed at revitalising the nation’s economy.

Ogunwusi made the remarks at his palace during the unveiling of the National Mobility Programme of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation, CreditCorp.

The Ooni expressed confidence that the President’s objective of reducing poverty would eventually be achieved through the various initiatives and policies designed to ease economic hardship among Nigerians.

He noted that the programmes being implemented by the administration could contribute significantly to improving the economic well-being of citizens and addressing poverty across the country.

“The economic policies of the Tinubu administration are already yielding good results. The country’s capital market and foreign reserves have witnessed unprecedented growth, while the foreign exchange market has become more stable, allowing businesses and individuals to make better economic projections.

“Things that have never been recorded in history, we have recorded them. Our capital market has gotten to over N150 trillion. Nigeria is now the most capitalised market in the world, and we are now over $53 billion in foreign reserves.

“The intention of President Tinubu is to put an end to poverty among Nigerians,” he said, adding that the steps taken so far by the President have revitalised the nation’s economy.
