Bauchi police make shocking discovery after arresting five suspects

Five individuals have been taken into police custody in Bauchi after operatives of the Nigeria Police Force allegedly discovered two suspected human eyes and other items believed to be associated with money ritual activities in their possession.

The Zone 12 Police Public Relations Officer, SP Jalige Mohammed, disclosed the development in a statement.

Mohammed said the suspects were arrested on August 26 by operatives attached to the Intelligence Unit at the Zone 12 Headquarters in Bauchi.

According to him, the operation resulted in the recovery of two suspected human eyes, pieces of red and white cloth, as well as other materials which police suspect could be connected to ritual activities.

The police spokesman identified the five suspects as Abdullahi Idris, Sani Haruna, Auwal Umar, Abubakar Yusuf and Sharu Sale.

He said the suspects were currently being questioned as investigators continued their probe into the circumstances surrounding the case.

Mohammed explained that detectives were working to determine the source of the recovered items and establish whether other individuals might be connected to the alleged activities.

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 12, Vungmoh S. M. Kwaimo, expressed concern over the development and called on members of the public to remain alert and vigilant.

He assured residents that the police would sustain operations targeted at dismantling criminal networks within the zone while continuing efforts to protect lives and property.
