Galatasaray’s Deputy Chairman, İbrahim Hatipoğlu, has firmly refuted reports suggesting the club has been in discussions with Manchester City regarding a move for İlkay Gündoğan during the current transfer window.
Hatipoğlu made it clear that Galatasaray’s main objective this summer is to secure a permanent deal for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.
It’s worth noting that Gündoğan had recently been rumored to be on Galatasaray’s radar ahead of the new season.
Speaking about the development, Hatipoğlu was quoted by Habersarikirmizi as saying, “We haven’t had any connection with Manchester City regarding transfers.
“We haven’t discussed money with İlkay Gündoğan and his manager. There is no such thing on our agenda at the moment.
“We are all thinking about the Osimhen transfer first. We will meet later if our coach wants.”
Osimhen had spent last season on loan at Galatasaray but the Nigerian international has not decided the club he will play for next season after his contract with the Turkish champions expired.
