Osun Guber Poll: Tinubu’s decision on candidacy final – APC National Secretary

According to Senator Ajibola Bashiru, national secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party’s Osun State chapter will support President Bola Tinubu’s favored candidate in the Osun governorship contest.

There are rumors that Tinubu is supporting Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor Ademola Adeleke in the gubernatorial contest.

According to the ZINGTIE, some disgruntled APC members in Osun State had claimed that Tinubu’s overt endorsement of the current governor may endanger the party’s candidate’s chances in the gubernatorial race.

But in an interview with the Nigerian Union of Journalists’ (NUJ) leadership on Wednesday, Ajibola asserted that Tinubu’s choice is definitive.

He said, “Whatever President Tinubu says on issues of Osun stands. We can afford to follow the President blindfoldedly.

“He takes decisions from the position of wisdom and the position of what will advance the larger interest of the progressives.”

Ajibola praised the current government, saying that Nigerians trust President Tinubu’s policies, especially those of the ruling party.
