Governor Alex Otti welcomed sixty-six prominent politicians from various political parties, along with their large following, into the Labour Party, LP at Ukwa West LGA on Friday.
The Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, has been the dominant force in Ukwa West, where it won elections from 1999 to 2023.
However, Ralph Egbu, Uche Nwaele, Ugoeze Ogbonna, Lucky Ejiogu, former Deputy Speaker Adinigwe Ugochukwu Nwoke, former Secretary to the Abia State administration, Ngozi Ulunwa, and other grassroots politicians from the PDP, APGA, and other parties moved into LP on Friday.
Governor Otti welcomed the new members to LP at Obehie Central School in Ukwa West LGA. He congratulated them for joining and urged those who are still unsure to do so before it’s too late.
“I truly, truly welcome our new members and their followers. If there are a few more people who are still doubting, please let them know that they need to board the train before it leaves the station,” Gov. Otti stated.
He declared that restoring the dignity of the Abia people was the main goal of his administration. He also gave the Council’s mayor instructions to survey and fence the planned site and announced that a mini-stadium would be constructed in Ukwa West.
Additionally, he warned the Obehie community that there was no need for the project’s location disputes and urged them to let Inner Galaxy corporation choose where to build the proposed skills acquisition center in Obehie.
Nwaeze Oti, the acting chairman of the LP in Abia State, welcomed the new members and said Otti’s performance was drawing more people to the parry.
