Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s Special Advisor, Mr. Paul Ibe, has blasted Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, accusing him of disclosing Atiku’s correspondence over his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ibe claims that the former vice president is not well-liked by Keyamo and some PDP members who collaborate with the All Progressives Congress, APC.
After Atiku recently visited the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, to offer condolences, word quickly spread on Wednesday that he had resigned from the PDP.
The newly established Coalition under the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has been in talks with the former vice president.
Speaking on Arise News, Ibe said, “People who never wished his Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar well leaked his communication about quitting the PDP. Oh yes! It was leaked.
“It is unfortunate that the minister of aviation, who rather should be concerned with aviation matters and there are plenty of them, run ways and better infrastructures, would jump into the case like knowing what caused an accident even before the investigation.
“Actually they’re the ones. Gross elements in the PDP, working in cahoots with the APC, leaked the communication and that’s why we’re having this conversation. That’s why I said I would rather we’re talking about something else and not this.”
Based on his body language, it is anticipated that Atiku will seek the presidency once more in 2027.
And if this occurs, he may be running in the ADC presidential primary among others who have publicly expressed interest, such as Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, and Chibuike Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers State.
