Reality TV personality, Phyna, has stirred debate online following her critical remarks about President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to Yelwata community in Benue State.
The visit came in the wake of a brutal attack on the community, reportedly carried out by suspected herdsmen, which led to the deaths of more than 200 people.
During his trip, President Tinubu was seen meeting survivors receiving medical attention at a hospital.
However, Phyna, a former Big Brother Naija housemate, raised doubts about the authenticity of the images from the visit. She questioned who exactly the President met in the hospital, suggesting that the victims were all killed and that no one survived the massacre.
She also criticized the display of a red carpet during the hospital visit, implying it was inappropriate given the gravity of the situation.
IShe tweeted, “There were no victims in Yelewata, they were all killed and burnt alive. Who are those in the hopital that the President went to visit standing on a red rug?
“Why are you doing a photoshop to make us angrier? Nigeria has failed us.”
Her comments have triggered a wave of mixed responses on social media. While some praised her for boldly questioning official narratives, others accused her of chasing attention and lacking accurate information about the incident.
Here are some reactions gotten from X.
@kakanfo tweeted, “How you take know say na all off them die? Are you one of the killers?”
@legalyz said, “There were victims, do not say what you do not know.”
@TheDecapitator wrote, “You won chase clout again with Benue matter?”
@Mrprosper tweeted, “We are doomed, everything about this government is fake, over 200 people killed but here we are today visiting hired people in the hospital. God have mercy.”
@Agatha/SMM wrote, “It’s so sad and annoying.”
@Tessy October said, “Of course there were victims as well as people who were burnt and also some of the victims in those pictures are the ones who survived the attacks previously before the one that happened in Yelewata.”
