Rapper Ruggedman has reportedly been taken into custody by the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti.
His detention is said to be linked to an ongoing conflict involving the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN).
The development was revealed on Thursday by human rights advocate Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared the information via his Instagram page.
In his post, Harrison raised concerns about how the police are treating the rapper, alleging that due process has not been followed.
“No proper investigation has been concluded. He and others are being maltreated. I wish to draw the attention of Nigerians to what is going on,” he said.
Ruggedman, along with fellow members JFO Baba Ojonorgua, Sunny Neji, and Zaaki Azzay, had previously been suspended by PMAN in August 2024, following accusations of misconduct.
