Former State Government Secretary Tammy Danagogo has been invited by the Rivers State Police Command to be questioned on a purported plot to kill Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.
After a phone call with an arrested suspect was published, the police invited Danagogo.
The police invitation letter that ZINGTIE saw did not specify the reason for the invitation, but an anonymous source who requested to remain anonymous stated that it was related to a phone conversation that was allegedly leaked.
Our source alleged, “Danagogo and Pastor Tombari were talking about the plot to invite Israelis to come and kill the Minister.
“The leaked phone conversation is with the police and he has been invited for questioning.”
Grace Iringo Koko, the state police public relations officer, assured ZINGTIE that she would verify the report and get back to them.
“Let me confirm and I will get back to you,” she told ZINGTIE.
A pastor from Port Harcourt named Tombari Joseph Gbeneol was previously detained by the police on suspicion of plotting to kill Wike.
After officials overheard a conversation between Gbeneol and a man named Danagogo, Gbeneol was taken into custody.
The two men allegedly discussed a strategy to enlist Israeli citizens to carry out the assassination during the recorded call.
According to reports, the call ended with a suggestion to ask Sim Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, for money to finance the purported operation.
