Police: Medical doctor shot by terrorists

The Police Command in Katsina has confirmed that Dr. Murtala Sale-Dandashire, who was shot by bandits at Kankara General Hospital in Katsina State, is still alive.

This was revealed to the News Agency of Nigeria in Katsina on Wednesday by DSP Abubakar Aliyu, the command spokesperson.

Via X handle, the news spread that the terrorists had shot Dr. Sale-Dandashire.

According to the spokesman, “The news making the rounds that a medical doctor shot dead at Kankara General Hospital is not true.”

He was shot, the spokesperson said, but he is presently responding to treatment at Katsina’s Federal Teaching Hospital.

He went on to say that three people were kidnapped by the terrorists in equal measure during the assault.

According to Aliyu, the police were working to apprehend the criminals and free the victims who had been kidnapped.
