The young woman whose body was found at a hotel in Gwarimpa, Abuja, has been identified by Nigerian police as Aladi Johnson, also called Tessy, a Benue State native.

“The investigation revealed the lady checked into the hotel in the company of an unidentified male who was later observed to have exited the premises without her,” she said.

SP In a statement released on Wednesday, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) spokesman Josephine Adeh stated the woman’s identity was made public by the police’s initial investigation.

Investigations showed that on June 16, Aladi and a male booked into a hotel at 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa, the FCT Police spokesperson continued.

According to Adeh, hotel employees found the man unconscious during regular service rounds, and the police were notified right away.

She said that a medical examination had confirmed the woman’s death.

This was said in a statement released in Abuja on Wednesday by the FCT’s Police Public Relations Officer.

Adeh went on to say that Mr. Ajao Adewale, the FCT’s Commissioner of Police (CP), has ordered a probe into the woman’s death.

“In swift response to the tragic incident, the CP has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident.

According to her, the CP has asked the public to maintain composure and let the Police conduct a thorough investigation while the investigation is still underway.

According to her, the CP had counseled young women to be cautious while interacting with strangers and to always let friends or family members know where they are for protection.

According to Adeh, the CP urged hotel operators to improve internal security measures, such as requiring visitors to provide identification.

The CP demanded that operational surveillance mechanisms be put in place to support inquiry and deterrent.

The Commissioner, who expressed sympathy to the deceased’s family, stated that attempts were underway to apprehend the offender or offenders.
