Junior Pope, a famous actor in Nollywood, is allegedly dead.

Junior Pope, who on Wednesday morning posted a video of himself on a boat, is said to have died in a boat accident.

On Wednesday, the actor and three of his colleagues plunged into the Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a filming location.

Actors Guild President Emeka Rollas also verified Pope’s death.

He said “It is true, Junior Pope died today in Asaba in a boat accident.

“We have deposited his corpse in a mortuary in Asaba.

“Four other people were involved but their bodies are yet to be recovered,”.

Similarly, filmmaker, Sam Olatunji announced his death on Wednesday.

“Junior Pope passes on. Sad day for Nollywood.

“Four actors including Jnr Pope fell into Anam River on their way to location and their bodies have been recovered.

“What a sad day for Nollywood. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Multiple sources confirm this sad development to us,” Olatunji wrote on his Instagram page.

The actor is survived by his wife and three children.
