Leonardo DiCaprio has pledged to donate $1 million to support wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles. The actor, who grew up in Southern California, announced the news on Instagram, urging others to contribute as well.

“I’m committed to supporting the relief efforts in my hometown,” DiCaprio said. He is partnering with Re:wild’s Rapid Response Program to provide aid for both immediate needs and long-term recovery.

The initial funds will benefit several organizations, including the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, California Fire Foundation, World Central Kitchen, and Pasadena Humane Society.

DiCaprio’s donation is part of a larger effort by many celebrities and companies to support the region. Google and YouTube have pledged $15 million, while Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, donated $4 million. Other major contributors include Disney, Netflix, and Amazon.

According to reports, DiCaprio’s donation will help provide resources to first responders, residents, and animal shelters affected by the wildfires. His commitment highlights his ongoing dedication to environmental causes.
