Pregnant wife allegedly hits husband to death for challanging her over miniskirt

The husband lost his life as a result of an argument with his wife about a miniskirt she was wearin

One evening, Patrick John, the male, came home from a bar and saw his pregnant wife wearing a miniskirt—a garment he had previously advised her not to wear. This is when everything started to go wrong.

The pair lives in the Fufore Local Government Area’s Faram Faram hamlet.

ZINGTIE learned on Monday that on June 13, 2024, during a brawl, the man confronted his wife about the miniskirt and reportedly grabbed her by the neck, causing her to resist and cry out.

The man allegedly left the scene only to return and attack the woman once more after neighbours heard the commotion and hurried in to separate them.

The husband was reportedly smacked in the forehead by the wife, Maryam, who took up a hoe. The husband was transported to the hospital, where he eventually passed away.

Maryam, who was charged with the crime, is arguing that she is defending herself.

Maryam explained her actions as an instinctive self-defense at the Chief Magistrate Court 2 in Yola, which was presided over by Magistrate Musa Alhaji Adamu.

After she entered a guilty plea to the charge of culpable homicide, the judge ruled that she should be placed on detention and postponed the case until July 10, 2024.
