RCCG pastor arraigned for allegedly raping and impregnating his daughter

Emmanuel Orekoya, a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has been arraigned before the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court for allegedly raping and impregnating his 17-year-old daughter on Tuesday, February 27.

The Lagos State Government put forward two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse and sexual assault against the defendant.

In November 2022, a video allegedly featuring the daughter of RCCG Wisdom Tabernacle Parish Lawason Lagos pastor Orekoya Emanuel went viral, claiming that her biological father had slept with her for more than two years, knowing her mother.

The defendant allegedly impregnated his daughter during a sexual intercourse.

The state’s prosecutor, Mrs. Abimbola Abolade, informed the court on Tuesday, February 27, that the defendant had committed the offenses at some point in 2017 in the state’s Odoeran, Itire region on Jacob Adeleye Street.

Additionally, the prosecutor informed the court that Orekoya had sexually assaulted the woman by putting his finger inside her vagina and his *** inside her mouth.

The prosecutor said that Orekoya’s offenses violated Section 137 of Lagos State’s 2015 criminal code.

But the defendant entered a not guilty plea to the accusations leveled against him.

Justice Soladoye postponed the matter until April 17, 2024, when the trial was to begin.
