Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has explained why he no longer uses female secretaries.

After moving to the church’s campground, Pastor Adeboye stated he stopped hiring female secretaries because he wanted to prevent any circumstances that would lead to temptation.

Speaking to his followers at the Redemption camp on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, the preacher said that he chose not to utilize female secretaries because he needed to establish clear boundaries and maintain personal discipline because his pastoral responsibilities required him to work late at night.

Pastor Adeboye said: “From the moment I got to this campground, from the moment I got to a stage where at night I still have to work, I ceased to have a female secretary, some people thought it was gender discrimination.

“I know myself. I know who I was before Jesus saved my soul. I know the possibility of dangers, being left alone at night with the opposite sex.”

Despite this, Adeboye talked positively of his former Ebute-Metta secretary, characterizing her as a devoted believer and pointing out that her behavior remained admirable.
