Rivers crisis: Joe Igbokwe goes hard on Fubara

Governor Siminalayi Fubara never talked as a governor, according to a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, amid the debate surrounding the proclamation of a State of Emergency in Rivers State.

Igbokwe claims that the embattled governor acts and speaks more like the president of a student union than a governor.

A post on his Facebook page reads: “In actions and deeds, Fubara never spoke as a sitting governor. He behaved and spoke like a Student Union President.”

According to ZINGTIE, Nigerians are divided over President Bola Tinubu’s decision to proclaim a State of Emergency in Rivers State on Tuesday due to the political turmoil in the state. As a result, he suspended Governor Fubara, his deputy, and all elected lawmakers.

The declaration has been fiercely contested by a number of stakeholders, particularly opposition politicians, who claim that the president cannot lawfully suspend elected people.

The emergency rule in Rivers State was approved by the Senate and the House of Representatives on Thursday, despite the outcry.
