Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, has received advice from Ayekooto Akindele, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, or APC, on how to address the state’s ongoing crisis.
Ayekooto asked the governor to completely implement the latest Supreme Court ruling in a statement on his official Facebook page.
He believes that until his dispute with state House of Assembly members is settled, the governor ought to fire his commissioners and put a stop to the Local Government election preparations.
He wrote, “Fubara no dey hear word. This Rivers matter is very simple. Obey the Supreme Court judgment fully.
“That is, sack those illegal commissioners, cancel LG election preparation until you and HoA settle your differences like men. Then agree on a date to represent your budget. THAT’S ALL”.
The parliamentarians have refuted Governor Fubara’s accusations that the Assembly members are impeding his attempts to carry out the ruling, calling them false.
Tension in the state is currently high due to attempts by lawmakers to remove the governor from office.
