While other members of the criminal gang fled the crime scene wounded by bullets, two suspected kidnappers were shot dead at Edo-Ogwashi-Uku Community in the state by security personnel from the Nigerian Army 63 Brigade, Asaba, and the Delta State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad with Edo-Ogwashi Security.
Additionally, the agents found 16 rounds of live ammo, three loaded AK-47 magazines, and one AK-47 weapon among the abductors.
Comrade Harrison Gwamnishu, a security advocate and human rights campaigner, revealed this on his Facebook status, saying, “The TRACKER from the Delta State Government House Asaba was a key factor in the success of this operation.”
According to him, the deceased suspects were in charge of the shooting death of an estate supervisor at Ubulu-Okiti and the kidnapping of two female students from Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku at Azagba-Ogwashi behind Rain Oil Gas Plant.
He thanked Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his steadfast assistance in making sure they get the resources they need.
“Special thanks to the Military 63 Brigade Garrison Commander, military head heading Oshimili North, and military head heading Aniocha South for their prompt response.
“I also appreciate the DPO Ogwashi-Uku for being readily available to assist our people.
“My gratitude goes to my team, particularly Intel Ejemizu Chidozie Peters, for being vigilant and prepared to join me at any time.”
