Adamu Lokoja, a member of the Niger State legislature for the Suleja, Gurara, and Tafa Federal Constituencies, has switched from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Lokoja was formally welcomed into the APC at its state office in Minna by Aminu Bobi, the party’s chairman for the state.
Speaking at the formal event, Danladi Ahijoh, the APC’s Niger East Zonal Chairman, stated that politicians who wish to participate in the future of tomorrow should consider joining the party as an investment.
He went on to say that his defection was motivated by the revolutionary changes that the APC-led government brought about. Internal party conflicts and a lack of unity have been highlighted by recent PDP defectors to the APC as reasons for their departure.
According to ZINGTIE, Representative Lokoja is one of three members of the 10th Assembly who were chosen in Niger State on the opposition PDP’s platform.
Citing protracted and unsolved problems inside the PDP, three Katsina State PDP lawmakers recently defected to the APC.
This pattern demonstrates how difficult it will be for the PDP to hold onto its support and influence before the election.
