Strike: Entrance, exit to National Assembly blocked by PASAN members

The National Assembly’s entrance and exit are under siege by members of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), an offshoot of the Nigeria Labour Congress.

Some employees who came early to check on compliance encountered two coastal buses blocking the entrance and departure gates.

The situation was the same at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, where our correspondent saw that the striking employees had blocked access to the airport, making it impossible for intending passengers to board a flight.

Remember that the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress, two representatives of organised labour, launched a nationwide strike today in response to the Federal Government’s tripartite committee’s inability to agree on a new minimum wage.

The national grid has already been shut down due to the development.
