Super Eagles: Ikpeba rallies support for Eric Chelle

Victor Ikpeba, a former international, has called for complete support for Eric Chelle, the recently hired head coach of the Super Eagles.

Fans and commentators have had conflicting reactions to Chelle’s appointment.

Ikpeba, a member of the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) technical committee, stated that he is not shocked by the response the appointment has received.

“The appointment of a coach for the Super Eagles will always generate a lot of interest,” the former Monaco forward told Brila FM.“

“This is one of the biggest countries in Africa and that’s the passion that comes around the national team.

“Even if we had appointed Pep Guardiola (Manchester City coach), there would be complaints.

“If there are no arguments , there won’t be success.”

Chelle is expected to be in Nigeria this weekend to sign his contract.
