Czech Republic club Slavia Prague has celebrated Igho Ogbu’s first-ever call-up to the Super Eagles.
Ogbu was named in the 39-man provisional squad by Nigeria’s head coach, Eric Chelle, for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, which was announced on Tuesday.
“Igoh Ogbu earns his first senior @NGSuperEagles call-up!,” the Red and Whites wrote on X.
“Nigeria will face Rwanda and Zimbabwe in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
“Congratulations, Iggy! We are so proud of you!”
The 25-year-old centre-back had previously represented Nigeria at the U-20 level.
He was part of the Flying Eagles squad for the 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Niger and also featured in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland that same year.
