Tension heightens in Kano as Gov Yusuf orders deposed Emir Bayero’s arrest

Kano State is tense due to reports that deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero was forced back into power.

This is in response to the governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, ordering his quick apprehension.

According to information obtained by ZINGTIE, the governor, his deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam, and other high-ranking government officials have taken control of the Emir’s Palace in an attempt to thwart the forcible return of the ousted Emir.

According to a statement from his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, the governor has ordered the deposed Emir to be arrested for breaking both the law and his orders as the State Chief Security Officer.

After escorting the reappointed Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II back to the palace, Governor Abba and his deputy reportedly left the deposed Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, at the Nasarawa Emir Rest House, next to the Ministry of Works.

In a video circulating on social media, the State Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam, is heard yelling, “We are ready for them hence they want to bring chaos to Kano by their illegal actions of returning the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero”.

“We are here, we are not going anywhere, because we understand that the NSA under the orders of Ganduje has brought back the deposed Emir with heavy security trying to bring him into the palace; we will not allow that to happen,” he alleged.

“The State Assembly deliberated for three days on the Emirate Council Law and Repealed it, and all the 40 members of the Legislative Chamber were there, so I don’t understand what the NSA and Ganduje want,” he further alleged.

Feelers disclosed that the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero attempted to be reinstalled in Kano using two private jets and that the Governor and members of his cabinet had already seized control of the Emir’s Palace in case of an emergency.
