In its battle against crime, the Kano State Police Command has made notable progress, including apprehending criminals in a number of high-profile cases.
This was disclosed by CP Salman Dogo Garba, the Commissioner of Police, at a press conference held at the Bompai, Kano, Police Headquarters.
He revealed that three suspects had been taken into custody in relation to the abduction and killing of 64-year-old Alhaji Atiku Mu’azu, who lived in Kano’s Janbulo Quarters. After a protracted intelligence-led operation, the suspects—who were identified as Abubakar Hassan (also known as Captain), Adamu Abubakar Adam, and Alhaji Hamisu (also known as Bakin Bross)—were captured.
In a another incident, armed men broke into Alhaji Auwalu’s home in Sabuwar Unguwa Garo, Kabo Local Government Area, stole ₦8 million from him, and took his 16-year-old daughter, Zainab Aliyu hostage.
According to CP Garba, an investigation has commenced by the police to save the victim and apprehend the perpetrators.
In addition, 17 suspected armed robbers were taken into custody by the police after they attacked the Hotoro and Kawu Quarters in Kano, breaking into stores, damaging cars, and attacking locals.
Three further suspects were detained in a different operation for stealing 200 cell phones from two victims at Yankatsari Quarters.
To assist maintain the safety and security of the state, the Commissioner of Police asked the public to be watchful, careful, and to report any suspicious activity or persons to the closest police station.
