Three days after a violent altercation at a local shop over an unpaid N100, a retired senior police officer tragically passed away.

In an emotional interview on Brekete Family, his widow, Hajara Joseph, described how a straightforward argument turned into a deadly assault after a woman allegedly banged his head against a wall, causing internal injuries that finally resulted in his death.

Hajara described the unsettling incidents that transpired:

“The following day, my husband didn’t look like a human being anymore. Blood had filled his eyes. So I called the woman who usually treats my children and begged her to please come and treat my husband. She came and treated him.”

”Despite receiving treatment, things only got worse.”

“That night, my husband didn’t sleep. The next day, he still couldn’t sleep. He told me we should call the police, and he narrated the whole story to them.”

”They later took him to the hospital, where the seriousness of his injury became clear.”

“At the hospital, the doctors told us that his head was broken. They asked if he had been involved in an accident, and I told them, ‘No – a woman hit his head on the wall.”

Unfortunately, the husband passed away three days following the assault.

In an effort to hold people accountable for her husband’s tragic and preventable death, the distraught widow is now pursuing justice.
