After falling into the hands of accused “one-chance” robbers who allegedly abducted, assaulted, and extorted her before abandoning her hurt in the middle of the road, an Abuja lady has described the most horrifying day of her life.
The woman, who spoke on The Lucky Udu Experience, claimed that the ordeal started at the Lugbe Shoprite bus stop when she got on what looked to be a typical commercial vehicle on her way from Kubwa to Wuse.
There were only three guys in the car: the driver, a man in the front seat, and a man next to her in the back. In a matter of minutes, however, the man in front jumped to the rear and seized her by the throat, while the other held her in place.
She claims that the perpetrators sought a ransom of ₦10 million. They thrashed her and threatened to kill her when she stated that she couldn’t raise so much money.
They held her captive for over seven hours and made her and her family send them a total of ₦700,000 before they let her go.
The robbers did not just leave her, shockingly.
A good Samaritan bike rider eventually came to her aid and removed her from the site.
The victim is now urging security services and the Federal Capital Territory’s minister to act immediately.
“Those of us without cars rely on public transport every day. Please, tighten security in Abuja so no one else goes through this,” she appealed.
