The mother of the deceased businessman and CEO of Fish Magnate Group, Martins Ifesinachi Onyekesi, Mrs. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi, has spoken her son’s murder in public for the first time.

She denied claims that the young entrepreneur’s death was caused by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

There have been multiple attempts to politicize child Onyekesi’s death, according to the distraught mother.

Remember how the businessman was abducted last month? His kidnappers killed him and left his body at a site for the family, even after it was reported that the ransom had been paid.

Mrs. Onyekesi stated that her son’s death was a targeted attack when members of the Geeks and Founders Alliance for Soludo, or GEFAS, a support group for Soludo, visited her home.

She said: “They waited for him while he was coming home, and as he alighted from his car to open the gate, they attacked him. I believe it was a targeted attack.”

Mrs. Onyekesi denied claims made by activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, claiming Soludo was to blame for her son’s passing.

“Governor Soludo is not in anyway responsible for the death of my son. We all know that Anambra is now better in terms of security than Soludo met it.

“I have heard such remarks that the governor was responsible for my son’s death, but it’s all lies. Will Soludo come to every home to mount guard?

“In fact, I should even be thankful to the governor because that night when my son was taken, a lot of our party people heard it and were calling, and the governor also reached out to me and also connected me with the police commissioner in an attempt to get my son out.”

She disclosed that certain politicians had been plotting to use her son’s passing as political leverage, with some attempting to use her as a weapon against the state governor. She has refused to let that happen.

“I have been visited by several persons, including politicians who want to turn the whole thing into politics. Some of them I see them, others I refuse to see them, but I have rejected every move to make it political.

“I have read news of people blaming the governor for it, but that is not true. I dare say that the governor is doing his best in security, and Anambra is better than what it used to be,”she said.

On August 28, 2025, the businessman’s remains would be buried in Ikenga, Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State, his homeland.

The group and the greater APGA family will continue to pray for them during this difficult time, said GEFAS Coordinator Mr. Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, who led other members on the visit.
