Former All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy National Publicity Secretary Timi Frank has denounced the assaults on former Rivers State Governor Dr Peter Odili by Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.
According to Naijaonpoint, Odili had commended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for stopping Wike from converting the state into his personal property.
Wike responded by calling Odili a “rent seeker” and “ingrate” at a Special Thanksgiving Service hosted by Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker Martin Amaewhule, who is a partisan, at the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Oro-Igwe/Eliogbolo Archdeaconry Church of the Holy Spirit, Eliozu Parish, Port Harcourt.
Reacting to the disagreement between the lawmakers in a statement on Tuesday, Frank said Wike has again revealed his true character of betraying his friends and sponsors.
He stated that Wike betrayed the likes of former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Patience Jonathan.
He noted: “Wike’s condemnable outburst against Odili shows how quickly he can turn friends into foes and his irredeemable unpredictability.
“This is not his first time, and it will not be his last. Nigerians are aware of how Wike betrayed ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience, after they appointed him as Minister of Education and assisted him in becoming Governor of Rivers State
“Nigerians are also aware of how the Minister worked against the political interests of the ex-Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, after benefiting maximally from the latter’s political patronage.
“In 2023, Wike formed an unholy alliance against his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and ensured they lost the presidency.
“Up till this moment, he has continued to orchestrate crises in the party, like he is doing in Rivers State, to weaken it politically ahead of 2027.
“What better evidence of treachery do we need from a man who is both a member of the PDP and a minister in an APC administration?”
