Tinubu appoints Pam Botmang as Plateau representative at Federal Character Commission

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named Hon. Pam Botmang, a former Plateau State Commissioner for Works, as a Federal Commissioner to represent Plateau State on the Federal Character Commission’s board.

Before this appointment, Botmang served as the Director of Communication and Public Relations for the Tinubu Initiative for National Transformation (TINT).

Botmang, the son of the late Sir Michael Botmang, who was a former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, was also the running mate to Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the 2023 election. The election was ultimately won by the incumbent Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.

Following the announcement, several prominent politicians and supporters have extended their congratulations to Botmang. Among them is Simon Bako Lalong, Senator for Plateau South Senatorial District and APC leader in the state, who also praised Botmang’s appointment.

In a message released on Tuesday, Senator Lalong described Botmang’s appointment as well-earned and fitting, citing his extensive experience in both public and private sectors, where he has consistently delivered commendable results.

Lalong further highlighted Botmang’s previous role as his Commissioner during his governorship, noting his demonstrated ability to efficiently manage resources and oversee numerous visible infrastructure projects throughout the state.
