President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Brasília, Brazil, for a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and Brazil.
His plane touched down at Brasília International Airport around 12:30 a.m. local time, which corresponds to 4:30 a.m. Nigerian time.
Upon arrival, Tinubu was welcomed by Carlos José Moreno Garcete, Brazil’s Secretary for Africa and the Middle East, alongside the Brazilian Ambassador to Nigeria and several high-ranking Nigerian officials, including Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.
During his stay, the Nigerian leader is scheduled to hold a meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at the Planalto Palace on Monday.
The two leaders are expected to oversee the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and later participate in a joint press briefing.
The visit will focus on fostering cooperation in key sectors such as agriculture, clean energy transition, regional security, and other shared strategic interests.
